Our Purpose

WeSTEM+ is founded to build a strong, inclusive community for young girls, women, and underrepresented groups who are pursuing or aspiring to careers in STEM. Our mission is to foster support, mentorship, and collaboration, empowering members to thrive in Luxembourg and the Greater Region.

By “community,” we mean a diverse and dynamic network of people and organizations who engage with our mission in meaningful ways. Our community includes:

  • Volunteers – The dedicated individuals who form our operational and administrative teams, driving all internal initiatives and external outreach for the association.
  • Members – Individual and corporate members who contribute through an annual membership, gaining access to exclusive benefits while staying connected to the latest opportunities, events, and developments.
  • Sponsors and Partners – Organizations and institutions who support us financially or through in-kind contributions, enabling us to deliver high-impact events, programs, and initiatives.
  • Subscribers and Followers – Those who engage with our content and stay informed through our social media channels and newsletter, helping us expand our reach and impact.

To drive our mission forward, WeSTEM+ focuses on three key programmatic pillars, each designed to foster lifelong engagement in STEM and create systemic change. These pillars are central to our broader strategy to promote digital inclusion, gender equality, and innovation—fully aligned with the European Union’s Digital Decade goals.

We also actively collaborate with partners in key European regions, particularly those receiving targeted support from the European Commission. These partnerships enable us to amplify our impact, co-design relevant initiatives, and contribute to inclusive growth across diverse markets and communities.

Our three pillars are:

  1. STEM Initiatives for Kids (<18)
    We collaborate with schools and educational institutions to introduce children and teenagers to STEM through interactive workshops, school events, and awareness campaigns. These initiatives not only highlight exciting career paths but also address critical youth challenges such as cyberbullying and sextortion—ensuring a safer, more inclusive digital space for the next generation.
  2. STEM Programs for Women and Underrepresented Groups (+18)
    We offer accessible, skills-based training programs for learners at all levels—beginner, intermediate, and advanced. These programs integrate technical education, soft skills, mentorship, and career support to empower participants to succeed in the evolving STEM landscape and access better employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.
  3. Leadership Programs (+35)
    We support individuals from underrepresented backgrounds as they advance into leadership roles, through mentorship, coaching, and visibility campaigns. By showcasing diverse role models and connecting professionals with growth opportunities, we promote inclusive leadership and help shape more equitable decision-making across industries.

Together, these pillars ensure that WeSTEM+ supports individuals at every stage of their journey—from early curiosity to professional leadership—while contributing to a more inclusive and digitally empowered Europe.

At WeSTEM+, our strategy is built on three core pillars—Grow, Connect, and Educate & Inspire—designed to build a sustainable, inclusive ecosystem for women and underrepresented groups in STEM, in Luxembourg and across Europe.

Grow: Building a Strong and Sustainable Organization

We are committed to scaling our impact through:

  • Strong internal foundations: We build capable teams of volunteers, collaborators, and staff to ensure operational excellence.

  • Strategic partnerships & funding: We work with sponsors, institutions, and academia to grow our resources and extend our reach.

  • Community engagement: We grow our member base and corporate network through targeted campaigns and inclusive outreach.

  • High-impact programs: We deliver targeted annual programs aligned with our three core focus areas—Kids (<18), Women & Young Talent (+18), and Leadership (+35)—all in support of the EU’s Digital Decade.

  • European outreach: We’re expanding our presence beyond Luxembourg, partnering with organizations in priority regions such as Benelux and the Greater Region, while adapting programs to local needs.

  • Upskilling & reskilling: We offer technical and soft skills training at all levels, including in emerging technologies like AI and Deep Tech.

  • Accessible resources: We provide practical guides, insights into the job market, and curated content to support growth and integration in Luxembourg’s STEM ecosystem.
